How to deal with grief

Grief support online – a digital course.

Your mind doesn't remember at first—a short moment. As your body turns on and your mind awakes, it all comes rushing back, the feeling, the hollowness, and the weight. You have a loss in your life.

“How am I going to deal with today?”

I want to be there for you because I know how terrible it feels. I lost my husband Steve to Cancer in 2015, and after he died, people in my community no longer felt comfortable talking or being around me. I don't want this for you.

Your course will give you context for what you're going through, insight on what to expect in the future, and guidance to manage grief daily and over time.

Go at your own pace.

At the end of your course, I hope you’ll be able to

• Recognize the effects of grief on the body and mind.

• Understand and make sense of your grief.

• Be with it, carry it with you and continue to live.

I want to bear witness to your grief; I want to acknowledge and validate it. This is a lonely experience, but you don't have to be alone in it. Join me and others; give yourself permission to grieve; take this course.

“Through this course…I’ve been able to recognize the tells of grief in my body and mind, to kind of take my temperature and recognize where I am emotionally. I found that I’m more forgiving of myself now. And I understand the importance of my daily life even after this massive loss.”

As empathizers, it can be really hard to know how to help. Sometimes the best way for us to show up for someone is to give them the support that we can’t provide on our own.
